Orillia OPP lay charges after collision involving vehicle and pedestrian

Orillia OPP have laid charges in relation to a collision involving a vehicle and pedestrian that happened last month.

On August 10th around 10:30 p.m., officers responded to Mary Street.

They say a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle and the driver continued without stopping. One person was sent to a trauma centre with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

OPP located the vehicle abandoned in Orillia on August 14th.

A 30-year-old man from Huron-Kinloss Township has been charged with:

  • Dangerous operation causing bodily harm
  • Fail to stop at an accident causing bodily harm
  • Fail to comply with a probation order
  • Aggravated assault

The accused is scheduled to appear in Orillia.
