SIU steps in after Innisfil arrest, large quantity of drugs and cash seized

After two men were arrested on February 28th, in Innisfil by the Orillia OPP, the Special Investigations Unit (SIU) has stepped in.

OPP say the arrests were made while executing two search warrants. Police searched a condo, storage unit and vehicle in relation to the warrant. While searching the condo police say one individual sustained injuries and was transported to hospital. 

As an outcome of the injuries, the SIU has stepped in and invoked their mandate.

According to police, they found large quantities of drugs and cash while executing the warrants including 101 grams of cocaine, 278 grams of fentanyl, 22 oxycodone pills and $15,000 cash proceeds.

Both men were held prior to their bail hearings which happened on February 29, 2024.
