8 Things To Do In Barrie This Weekend: March 29th-31st

March is wrapping up and we are eagerly kissing winter goodbye to say a happy hello to spring. There's a number of great activities you can take part in this weekend to get the most out of your time off. Get out there and enjoy it, you deserve it!

1. Sunday Funday @ Castleview Inn

Sunday March 31st Castleview Inn is hosting a Sunday Funday family event. There will be forest trails for walkin', animals for meetin' and a bonfire lunch for eatin'. Some friendly farm animals include horses, peacocks, chickens, rabbits and the one and only Coleman the miniature horse.

The event will take place 12 pm-3 pm. The cost is $40 per family of 4 and $5 each for additional members.

2. The Night Market

The Night Market is back by popular demand to Tangle Creek March 29th from 6 pm-9 pm. There will be a number of local vendors, live music, complimentary champagne and light snacks.

Tickets are $20 each and proceeds go to Seasons Centre For Grieving Children. The first 25 people to arrive will be treated to a special swag bag.

Some vendors include: Innisfil Creek Honey, Stella & Dot, Poppy & Peonies, Cork & Bottle Candle Co., Two Sisters Natural and more!

3. Maple Fool's Day

It's a maple syrup themed day at the Barrie's Farmer's Market! Saturday March 30th from 8 am-12 pm shop locally made maple syrup, sweet treats and other maple flavoured goodies such as yogurt, coffee and hot sauce.

4. Meltdown Pond Skim @ Snow Valley

Wrap up the ski/snowboard season with a splash! Sunday March 31st Snow Valley is hosting their March Meltdown Pond Skim. Participants will be challenged to complete their typical slope run with a stylish "skim" across an 80 ft pond at the bottom of the hill. Wacky costumes highly encouraged!

Registration will take place from 9 am-12 pm at the information desk and the pond skim will kick-off at 1 pm.

5. Sky Crystals Exhibit @ Simcoe County Museum

Don Komarechka's Sky Crystals Exhibit is at Simcoe County Museum until April 21st. Using a steady hand, an old mitten, and freshly falling snow Komarechka photographs snowflakes like you've never seen before. Many people have a hard time believing these photos are real... but you'll have to come see for yourself.

6. Caesar Sunday @ 1858 Caesar Bar

This is a must add to your weekend plans. It requires a little bit of a road trip but it is worth it! Head to Collingwood for the day and hit up 1858 Caesar Bar.

When it comes to caesars, if you can think it up... they can most likely make it. Customize any drink to your liking with all the delicious garnishes to go with it.

7. Earth Hour Free Public Skate

The Innifil Recreational Complex will be hosting a free public skate from 8:30 pm-9:30 pm March 30th for Earth Hour. Shut down your lights and electronics and hit the rink.

8. The Roller Skating Place

Kick it old school this weekend at The Roller Skating Place located in Orillia.

Checkout weekend skate times and pricing (all pricing include skate rentals):

Saturday: 1 pm-4 pm, $6.00
7 pm-10 pm, $7.00  

Friday: 7 pm-10 pm, $7.00

Little tip; if you cant ice skate dont try roller skating.... its just as hard
