The Walk A Mile In Her Shoes event asks men to literally walk a mile in women's shoes. It's not an easy walk but it's fun and gets people talking about a difficult issue: abuse.
The Women and Children's Shelter of Barrie has been offering a safe and secure refuge since 1981. Every $240 helps a woman and her child stay at the shelter for one week.
The event has raised nearly 50% of it's $50,000 goal and you can help right now by donating or joining the walk as an individual or by forming a team. The event starts at 11 AM on September 14th with shoe-fitting, decorating, and team pictures before the walk begins at 12 PM. After the walk, you can enjoy the award ceremonies with lots and food and fun to be had.
