With the disastrous reception of the Game of Throne's final season, the only hope for fans to get satisfying closure lies with George R.R. Martin and the original book series.
Fans have been clamoring for a new entry in the Song of Ice and Fire series with the last book (A Dance With Dragons) being published nine years ago, all the way back in 2011 when the first season of the show premiered.
George R.R. Martin has outlined in his latest blog post what his plans are over the next few weeks concerning his theatre, bar, and non-profit organization. Along with this, he has also stated his intention to stay self-isolated in order to protect his health.
"For those of you who may be concerned for me personally… yes, I am aware that I am very much in the most vulnerable population, given my age and physical condition. But I feel fine at the moment, and we are taking all sensible precautions. I am off by myself in a remote isolated location, attended by one of my staff, and I’m not going into town or seeing anyone. Truth be told, I am spending more time in Westeros than in the real world, writing every day. Things are pretty grim in the Seven Kingdoms… but maybe not as grim as they may become here."
