It's a steal of a deal on the sweet stuff over at the Candy Shoppe.
The business on Highway 11 SB between Orillia and Gravenhurst is closing up shop after 23 years and selling their stock a great deal.
Owners Dean and Rita Robinson are having a charity sale starting Monday, October 3, with proceeds going to the Orillia "Sharing Place Food Bank."
All merchandise will be 50 percent off beginning October 3 and brought down to 75 percent off on October 11.
Robinson says donating funds to the "Sharing Place" is the right thing to do.
"It's the right way to continue putting smiles on people's faces. So why not do something really helpful by doing a fundraiser for such an important cause."
"While this sale by itself won't change anything, it may help many in our little corner of the world to get through some tough times this winter and spring," she says.
There's only one problem.
"I don't have enough staff to pull this off," Rita explains. "So, we're looking for volunteers to help with the sale because we expect many people to take advantage of the great deals."
Anyone interested can swing by the Candy Shoppe this weekend for more information or give them a call.
Dean and Rita have decided to retire after 23 years of running the popular destination.
There is good news for people who love a good Candy Shoppe. Rita says new owners will soon take over with brand new inventory starting shortly.
