The Barrie community has hundreds of fruit trees that many homeowners view as a nuisance due to the fallen fruit attracting animals and insects. FruitShare Barrie sends volunteers to pick fruit from these trees which is then used, among other things, to supply the local food bank. They hope to change the way people view their fruit trees and see them as a valuable community resource instead. Types of fruit picked include currant, plums, apples, pears, and grapes.

Whether you have a fruit tree of your own, want to make a donation, or have some time to spare to pick fruit, check out all the details here.
