A night of laughs, drinks, and some of the tastiest dishes Barrie has to offer.
Top Cheflicious took place over the weekend with hundreds of foodies coming out too put their tastebuds to the test and crown this year's "Top Chef Barrie". Donaleigh's, The Farmhouse, Cravings, The North, Flying Monkeys, Dunlop St. Diner, 147, PIE, Bacio, West Catering/Burger Royale, and Fishbone all brought their A-game to the delight of all who attended.
1st Place: Fishbone
Led by Chef Rick Marsh, first-time competitor Fishbone came out of the gate strong with a delicious octopus dish that wowed everyone. Fishbone specializes in seafood dishes with Portuguese inspired flavors and with a location in the beautiful Friday Harbour, it's a treat for the eyes as well as the belly.
2nd Place: Dunlop St. Diner
Back again to try to reclaim its crown, Dunlop St. Diner fell just short of a back-to-back win. While it didn't snag the top spot, it was the runner up with an amazing "Bang-Bang Bao Bun" creation. Chef Amanda Rider brings a special flare to all her dishes at Dunlop St. Diner which results in fantastic food in a casual atmosphere.
3rd Place: West Catering/Burger Royal
Posted by West Catering on Sunday, January 12, 2020
It really was a photo finish this year with West Catering / Burger Royal coming in hot with their delectable "Crispy Prawn Toasties". With A location in Barrie and another one on the way to cottage country, Burger Royal might take over as your new road trip tradition (and yes, you can order a "Royale With Cheese").
If you didn't get a chance to attend the event, don't worry, Barrielicious kicks off this weekend with every single one of the competitors participating. That's not all though, over 50 of Barrie's best restaurants are bringing Prix fixe full course meals ranging from $15 to $30. It really is the best way to check out the culinary diversity of our city.
