
Barrie police have arrested a suspect in connection with the alleged assault of a woman on May 6.
Police say the woman was assaulted around 9:30 p.m. by an unknown male while walking on the sidewalk in the area of Mayfair Drive near Ardagh Road.
She was taken to the hospital for treatment of a laceration.

On Saturday afternoon, police arrested a 22-year-old Barrie man as he exited a bus downtown.
He has been charged with aggravated assault, assault with a weapon, and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
"The Barrie Police Service would like to thank the public and the media for their assistance in this investigation. Numerous tips and information, as well as surveillance camera footage, have been provided to police since the assault took place," the police news release stated.
