Draft Budget, With a 3.3% Increase, Expected to Be Whittled Down
A draft budget is on the table for Barrie Council to consider and whittle down.
As written, this thing comes with a 3.3 per cent tax increase over last year, at about $344 million bucks. The biggest slice of that pie goes to salaries and benefits of City employees at 99 mil, with 79 million dollars set aside for debt and transferring to reserve funds.
Councillors expected to do what they do best and weed thru all this budget for savings, a final budget expected to be approved by February.
