Barrie City Hall closing dog parks, basketball courts, and others, to promote physical distancing

Parks remain open, but keep two metres distance from others while there

The City of Barrie is taking further steps to promote physical distancing by closing even more outdoor recreation areas.

City Hall announced Friday afternoon it is closing dog off-leash parks, skateboard parks, tennis courts, basketball courts, and picnic areas/pavilions until further notice.

Parks remain open, but the public is strongly urged to follow recommendations from the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit to maintain a distance of at least two metres from those around you.

Meanwhile, City Hall has announced it will hold its first virtual council meeting on Monday, March 30th, and residents can watch via YouTube.
