News release - City of Barrie
The City of Barrie is inviting residents to submit photos of their gardens and floral displays for this year’s Communities in Bloom campaign for a chance to be featured on the City’s website and social media channels. For the 2024 campaign, everyone is encouraged to plant the colour orange.
Residents can plant container projects, flowers or vegetable gardens, create outdoor art projects, tidy up their landscapes, or clean litter in their neighbourhood to help contribute.
This year marks the 30th anniversary of Communities in Bloom, and Barrie's 25th anniversary of participating in the campaign. This year, the City is also entering the International category. This category focuses on community engagement and the following criteria: Community Appearance, Environmental Action, Heritage Conservation, Landscape, and Plant and Floral Display.
