Barrie Court Services Officer Facing Suspension Over Arrest

Special Constable Arrested By Outside Agency

A member of the Barrie Police Service has been suspended without pay.

The 30-year-old man, a Special Constable with the BPS, was suspended yesterday, after a police spokesperson says he was arrested by a different police service in connection to a December 8th incident. The Special Constable was off-duty at the time.

“We hold our members, both uniform and civilian, to the highest standards and accountability while on duty or off duty. These allegations have been investigated and are now before the court. Our sworn and civilian members continue to provide professional and quality service, as we are committed to our community,” said Chief Kimberley Greenwood.

The Special Constable had been working with Court Services for the past two years, in a part-time capacity.
