The Barrie Farmers’ Market is proud to celebrate an incredible milestone this year, marking 180 years of supporting local farmers, artisans, and producers in the heart of the community.
As one of Ontario’s longest-running farmers’ markets, the Barrie Farmers’ Market has been a gathering place since 1846, connecting residents and visitors with fresh, local food and handcrafted goods for generations.
The market will officially return outdoors for the 2026 season on Saturday, May 2, along Mulcaster Street and Collier Street in downtown Barrie, where shoppers can once again enjoy the vibrant open-air market experience.

Visitors can expect a full lineup of local vendors offering farm-fresh produce, baked goods, meats, prepared foods, handmade products, and more, along with special events and celebrations planned for families and shoppers throughout the season to honour this historic anniversary.
“For 180 years, the Barrie Farmers’ Market has been more than just a place to shop, it has long been an incubator for small businesses within our community,” says Market Manager Ali Oakes. “It’s where local entrepreneurs grow, connect, and build lasting relationships with the people they serve.”
The Barrie Farmers’ Market operates every Saturday year-round, moving indoors to the Barrie City Hall Rotunda during the winter months. This ensures that residents can continue to shop local every Saturday, no matter the season.
Market Details:
- Outdoor Season: Saturdays from May 2 to Thanksgiving weekend, 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Mulcaster Street
- Indoor Season: Saturdays at Barrie City Hall Rotunda, 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM
