Local Heroes Honoured with King Charles III Coronation Medals
Barrie - Innisfil Recipients of King Charles III Coronation Medals

It was a night of celebration and gratitude, Tuesday, as Barrie-Innisfil MP John Brassard presented King Charles III Coronation Medals to a group of outstanding individuals. They were recognized for their dedication, leadership, and commitment to making a difference in their communities.

The special medal, created to mark the Coronation of His Majesty King Charles III on May 6, 2023, is awarded to 30,000 Canadians who have gone above and beyond in service, volunteerism, and leadership.

"Today, we’re celebrating people who make a real impact,” said MP Brassard. “The King Charles III Coronation Medal is a way to say ‘thank you’ to those who lead, give back, and help make our communities stronger. Their contributions shape our country, and I’m honoured to recognize their efforts.”

The recipients, nominated by fellow community members, were chosen for their passion and commitment to serving others. Whether through public service, volunteer work, or advocacy, each honouree has left a lasting mark on the Barrie-Innisfil area.

“Every single person receiving this medal has gone above and beyond,” Brassard added. “They’ve given their time, their energy, and their hearts to making this community better for future generations. That’s something truly worth celebrating.”

The ceremony wasn’t just about awards—it was also a moment of reflection and appreciation. Brassard noted that as Canada moves forward under the reign of King Charles III, it’s the people, not just the leaders, who shape the nation’s future.

“A country isn’t built by politicians alone,” he said. “It’s built by the everyday heroes who step up, make a difference, and inspire others to do the same.”
