Barrie man charged following back-to-back crashes in city’s north end

Police say suspect struck one vehicle, then a fruit and veg stand

A Barrie man has been arrested and charged following two collisions in the city’s north end on Monday.

A Barrie Police spokesperson says a vehicle pulled out of a Grove Street Driveway Monday afternoon and struck another vehicle. Police say, instead of stopping, the suspect vehicle took off and subsequently lost control at the Duckworth Street Plaza.

It was there, police say the suspect vehicle collided with a fruit and vegetable stand, causing damage to the stand.

A 23-year-old man was charged with failing to remain at the scene of a collision and dangerous driving. An occupant of the vehicle that was struck on Grove Street required medical attention for minor injuries.
