Police say the driver struck a post

A Barrie man who drove to the Barrie Collision Centre to report a crash had to find another way home.

Police say the man went to the Barrie Simcoe Emergency Services Campus on Fairview Drive, which houses Barrie police and County of Simcoe paramedics, to report the fender bender on Feb. 9.

According to a tweet from police, they said the man struck one of three posts separating a driveway used by the paramedics from the cul-de-sac at the front doors of police headquarters.

The post had to be removed.

The man was charged with impaired by drug.

His vehicle was impounded and his driver’s licence was suspended.
