The Barrie Police Service is investigating a fatal overnight collision on Mapleview Drive West near Veterans Drive.
Shortly after midnight on Tuesday, December 20, officers were called to the scene of a single-vehicle collision into a hydro pole.
The driver of the vehicle, a 21-year-old Barrie man, was pronounced dead at the scene, and a female passenger, also from Barrie, is in serious, life-threatening condition in a Toronto-area trauma centre.
The Barrie Police Traffic Unit is asking anyone who may have witnessed the collision, or who may have video or dash cam footage from the area to contact Detective Constable D. Steele at dsteele@barriepolice.ca.
