Barrie Police lay trafficking charges after vehicle pulled out of traffic altogether

Motorist abruptly stopped his vehicle, catching the eye of a nearby officer

One man’s actions caught the eye of Barrie Police and now he’s facing a future court date.

An officer was on patrol in the city’s east end around 4:30 p.m. Monday afternoon when they spotted a motorist abruptly pull to the side of Hopkins Road, park his pickup, and walk away. The officer approached the man and said they learned he was driving while under suspension.

Police returned to the pickup to retrieve the man’s licence, and that’s when the officer says cocaine and heroin were discovered in the vehicle.

A 27-year-old Barrie man is facing charges including trafficking. He will be in Barrie court in late March.
