A need for speed ended up being costly for a motorist in south end Barrie.
On Saturday, police say they clocked a vehicle travelling 117 km/h in a 60 km/h zone southbound on Essa Road, south of Salem Road.
The male driver from Alliston was charged with speeding and stunt driving.
His driver's licence was suspended for 30 days, and his car was impounded for 14 days.
