Barrie Police say suspect wore red gloves to rob the same downtown convenience store twice in a day

Third theft reported by Thursday afternoon

This isn’t exactly the type of repeat business they were looking for.

Barrie Police responded to reports of a robbery at the Circle K on the corner of Dunlop and Mulcaster just before 7:00 Thursday morning. A masked man was caught on camera during the incident, accused of demanding cash of the clerk before running off.

A few hours later, at around 10:15, police were called to the same location with reports of a hold up; while the suspect was masked, distinctive red gloves indicated they were the same individual who had robbed the place earlier in the day.

Police say the same suspect struck a third time Thursday afternoon. Officers say the Circle K on Bayfield St. was the target of the mid-afternoon heist.

The suspect is described as a white male standing about 5’7″. In the first instance, police say he wore a long sleeved white and black t-shirt, black jeans or pants, had his face covered with a long sleeve black shirt, and a black bandana. In the second, a black shirt with silver or white buttons was worn.

The Barrie Police Service is asking anyone with information on these robberies to contact Barrie Police Investigative Services at 705-725-7025, ext. 2549, contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), or leave an anonymous tip online at www.p3tips.com.
