Barrie Transit information sessions

News release - City of Barrie

Barrie’s new Transit network is coming on June 2 and key changes include:

  • Changes to routes 1, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 100. Routes 2,7, and 8 will remain the same.
  • A new express route on Highway 400 will connect the north and south ends of Barrie.
  • Transit ON Demand will expand to five zones in Barrie.
  • Added service coverage on Hanmer St., Lakeside Terrace, and Amelia St.

Until June 2, the five new Transit ON Demand zones are available for riders to try for free, while existing scheduled routes will remain operational. During this time, if you start on a Transit ON Demand zone, your ride, including transfer, will be free of charge.

There are three, easy ways to book a Transit ON Demand ride, and a mobile device is not required:

  • Book through the free app from the Apple or Google Play store by searching for "Barrie ToD"
  • Visit book.barrietod.rideco.com/login on a web browser
  • Call Service Barrie at 705-726-4242
