This is where you will find the quintessential steakhouse dinner in Barrie. When it comes to dining out some people are all about what's new. We are certainly guilty of this too. Hours can be spent searching for the new hip spot. In the case of Barrie's original steakhouse, established back in 1973, Town and Country Steakhouse definitely makes a case for "what's old is new again." That also happens to be the definition of hipster. So for those looking for a new hip spot to eat, try nostalgia out tonight. It's table-side flames and steak the way you want it. Their decades old slogan is 100 per cent bang-on - you would be very hard pressed to leave hungry.

"The staple," at Town and Country Steakhouse.

Co-owner Steve Koussiouris says they specialize in Steaks and Seafood and customer service. "We are about greeting people as they enter our authentic steakhouse." Steve is proud of the fact they have been in downtown Barrie since 1973, a place where restaurants come and go. "We have a huge parking lot, the best steak in the city and we put on a show. We in-house butcher and age our steaks, marinated in our special blend of herbs and spices."

Our Recommendations

Menu

Greek flare. The family behind Town and Country is Greek so it should come as no surprise that they have an amazing Greek salad.

Lobster Tail Dinner. You get two 8oz tails at market price!

Steak. The half pound New York steak, topped with sauteed mushrooms. We also recommend the highly touted chef's cut (full pound)

Chateaubriand. We tried the Flambéed tableside for two. This is the quintessential steakhouse dinner. You get a hearty portion Filet Mignon (18-20oz) carved into medallions and flambéed to perfection in Garlic, Red-wine, Peppercorn, Truffle or Gorgonzola sauce.

Dessert Banana foster Flambéed for two tableside. This is a wonderful combination of fresh berries and bananas flambéed into a sinfully seductive dessert that is served A la Mode.
