Before The Plate: Where Our Food Comes From

What it takes to get get your food from farm to table
Before The Plate

The Barrie Farmer's Market is hosting a free viewing of the documentary "Before the Plate", highlighting the stories and people who grow and produce the food we eat. This documentary is not about being vegan, vegetarian or the troubles of factory farming but is a celebration of Ontario's farming and agriculture industry. For more information check out their uniquely interactive website.

The Barrie Farmer's Market is a collection of farmers, growers, and producers who care about keeping our food local and delicious. The Market takes place every Saturday from 8 AM to 12 PM, inside and outside of City Hall.

The screening will take place on May 7th from 6 PM to 9 PM at the Five Points Theatre in Downtown Barrie. You can also meet local farmers after the movie and ask them all about how they produce our food, what difficulties they face, and what they are passionate about. The event is free but space is limited to be sure to reserve a spot here.
