Birch Please. Spruce Up Your Weekend With These Provincial Parks

and they all open this weekend!

With Barrie finally getting some nice weather and the long weekend just around the corner, a day trip to one of these provincial parks is the perfect weekend getaway for you and your kids.

Sibbald Point

This provincial park has large sandy beaches, grassy picnic areas, and a boat launch. With options for electrical and non-electrical campsites, Sibbald Point offers up an audio free camping experience that is sure to get you closer to nature.

Bass Lake

Get the best of both worlds at Bass Lake Provincial Park. A 2.8 Km hiking trail, Canoeing, Kayaking, and paddle boats, all within a 5-minute drive of shopping, restaurants and a movie theatre.

McRae Point

Pack up and take your bikes to McRae Point for a scenic ride through this lovely park located in Ramara Township. Bring your binoculars as well to spot some of the 79 species of birds that call this area home. You can also slink away to Casino Rama which is only 15 minutes away!

Mara

Mara, also located on beautiful Lake Simcoe, gives you a great excuse to bust out the fishing gear. Sunfish, walleye, Lake Trout, Smallmouth Bass, perch and Lake Whitefish can all be caught here.

Earl Rowe

If your looking for hiking, look no further. Earl Rowe has a ton of options. Wanting an easy and accessible 30-minute trail? Fletcher's Mill Pond Trail is the one for you. How about a longer 3-4 hour trail? Then Rainbow Run is what you looking for.

Awenda

If you just can't decide what you're looking to do once you're at the park, Awenda offers up anything you could possibly want. Biking, birding, boating, canoeing, fishing, and hiking, Awenda has got pretty much everything.

What are you waiting for? Start packing!
