Blue Mountains crash claims two lives

Vehicle left roadway near Blue Mountain Inn and struck tree, killing two, injuring a third

Police are investigating the circumstances leading to a fatal crash in The Blue Mountains.

First responders were called to the area of Grey Road 19 and Craigmore Crescent, not far from Blue Mountain Inn, around 11 p.m. Thursday. The OPP reports an Audi sedan left the roadway and struck a tree.

Three people were in the vehicle at the time. Two male passengers, one from Oshawa, the other from Whitchurch-Stouffville, both aged 29, were pronounced deceased.

The driver, a 24-year-old Whitchurch-Stouffville man was first taken to a Collingwood-area hospital, later airlifted to Toronto with serious injuries.

Area roadways were closed overnight for police investigation.
