The Bracebridge Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged one driver during afternoon patrols in Gravenhurst.

Friday at 3:30 p.m., Bracebridge OPP was patrolling Gravenhurst when an officer witnessed a traffic infraction on Philip Sreet. The officer trailed the vehicle and subsequently pulled the vehicle over.

That resulted in the arrest and charge of a 62-year-old Oakville, Ont. man. He was charged with impaired driving and will appear in Bracebridge court May 27.

Bracebridge OPP has already charged 37 drivers to date in 2025 with impaired driving, saying it continues to be a significant factor affecting the safety of Muskoka roads.

If you suspect someone is driving a vehicle of any kind while impaired, please call 9-1-1.
