Bradford crosswalk to get full traffic signal
Numerous complaints about speeding drivers
Bradford-West Gwillimbury council has voted to install a full traffic signal at Simcoe Road and Catania Avenue.
This, after numerous complaints from residents and the crossing guard about drivers speeding through the intersection and ignoring the crosswalk lights when they’re activated.
Council determined the safest and the most effective solution is to fully signalize the intersection at a cost of just under $100K. The signal will include a “detection loop” so that the light changes only as required by traffic.
