Bradford resident had knife pulled on him while confronting suspected thief

South Simcoe Police make arrest without incident or injury

Police say a man pulled a knife after being confronted for going through another person’s vehicle.

South Simcoe Police were called just before 9 p.m. Tuesday by a Bradford resident who says he caught someone going through his vehicle in the area of Centre Street and Simcoe Road. He confronted the suspect but says a knife was pulled on him before the suspect fled the scene.

Officers began a search of the area and located a suspect at a gas station on Holland Street. He was taken into custody and a knife was seized with no injuries reported.

A 36-year-old man of no fixed address was charged with theft, carrying a concealed weapon, and assault.
