Canada Post employees back at it after COVID concerns prompted early departure

Employees punched out early over a misunderstanding, according to a Canada Post spokesperson

A few folks at Canada Post’s Barrie distribution centre felt concerned enough to leave work early after an employee at the Morrow Road facility fell ill.

Canada Post says the Morrow Road distribution centre has undergone a good cleaning

A Canada Post media spokesperson confirmed in an email to Barrie 360 a few concerned workers punched out early Wednesday. “An employee on shift had a medical issue.  It was not related to COVID-19, but some employees were immediately concerned and some left,” according to the Postal spokesperson.

“We have proceeded with a precautionary cleaning of the facility to put the employees’ minds at ease and operations returned to normal.‚Äč” They added.
