Canada wins Gold at World Junior Hockey Championship with 4-3 win over Russia
Canada lost just one game at the tournament
They battled through injuries.
They battled through penalties.
And Team Canada battled back from a 3-1 deficit in the third period to beat Russia 4-3 to take the Gold Medal at the World Junior Hockey Championship.
Akil Thomas scored the game-winning goal – his only tally of the tournament – in Canada’s three-goal third period.

Canada lost just one game at the tournament – 6-0 to Russia – in the preliminary round. It was Canada’s worst defeat in world junior hockey history.
