Charges laid following Innisfil crash

Angus man accused of driving drunk and having too much pot on him

An Angus man is up on charges after cops say he was driving drunk.

At about 7 p.m. Wednesday, South Simcoe Police were called to a single vehicle crash in the area of Sideroad 5 and Highway 89 in Innisfil. Police say a vehicle drove off the roadway and hit a wooden post.

The driver wasn’t hurt, but was arrested on scene. Police say his blood-alcohol level was beyond the limit, adding there were over 30 grams of cannabis in the vehicle. A 48-year-old man has been charged, while his license was suspended for 90 days.
