Citizens and South Simcoe Police Use Teamwork To Nab Impaired Driver

Motorist charged with impaired and dangerous driving

South Simcoe Police is crediting tips from the public in helping them take an impaired driver off the road.

Back on Friday evening on December 27th, a number of citizens contacted police to report a vehicle driving erractically and without headlights on in Innisfil.

The vehicle was located in Stroud and a 32 year old Innisfil man was arrested. He was taken back to the police station where breath tests resulted in readings well over twice the legal limit.

The man was charged with impaired and dangerous driving.

His licence was suspended for 90 days and his vehicle impounded for a week.
