With another one-day strike by educators on the horizon, the City of Barrie is planning ahead by offering day camp registration now.
The city is now accepting registrations for the day-long camp at the Holly Recreation Centre. City staff tell Barrie 360 work is being done to provide similar services out of the East Bayfield Arena, but nothing is written in stone.
On Tuesday, January 21st, all members of the Ontario English Catholic Teachers’ Association (OECTA) will conduct a one-day withdrawal of service, affecting all schools with the Simcoe Muskoka Catholic District School Board. The Ontario Secondary School Teachers’ Federation (OSSTF) later announced its members will be walking a picket line at select school boards on the same day; the Simcoe County District School Board is affected by the OSSTF walk out, all high schools will be closed.
Meanwhile, Snow Valley Ski Resort is offering a one-day experience for kids affected by the teachers’ union job action.
