Collingwood OPP has responded to multiple reports of theft from vehicles in recent days, and is asking the public to practice a few prevention tips.
In the last three days, officers have received reports of 15 incidents of theft from unlocked vehicles from various areas in Collingwood.
Police say the incidents took place overnight, where some cash or loose change, wallets with contents, sleeping bags, GPS navigation unit, keys, and vehicle registration documents were stolen.
OPP say the person(s) committing this type of theft is looking for an easy target (unlocked vehicles). To prevent this, remove any valuables from the vehicle or place them in an area that is not easily visible from the outside, and lock your vehicle.
If anyone has information about these incidents, call Collingwood OPP at 1-705-445-4321 or if you wish to remain anonymous you can call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
