Boomerang Bags is a community initiative to reduce the amount of one-use bags by providing free fabric-based, reusable bags instead.
The bags are made from locally recycled textiles and allow shoppers to fill them up while they shop, take them home, and then return them to anyone of the participating stores. No need to return it to the same location you initially borrowed it from. Boomerang Bags are provided completely free of charge to any business that wants to participate.

Boomerang Bags also hosts a "community sewing bee" on the second Sunday of every month where you can help create some of these fantastic bags. You can help with sewing, cutting, pinning, or ironing and there are also "do-at-home kits" that you can help assemble for anyone who wants to make a few bags at home.
Beyond the sewing bee, there are many more ways to help including sourcing materials, distribution, and even just making sure to use a Boomerang Bag next time you shop.
