A collision in Cookstown on Friday afternoon sent two young people to hospital.
The collision happened on Highway 89 near the 5th Sideroad in Cookstown shortly after 1 p.m., and involved a sedan and coupe. Both drivers were the lone occupants of their respective vehicles.
The driver of the sedan, a 19-year-old Barrie man, was taken to a local hospital with serious, non-life-threatening injuries. The coupe’s driver, a 22-year-old man from Belle Ewart, required extrication from his vehicle. He was taken to a local hospital and then airlifted to Toronto with life-threatening injuries.
No charges have been laid in connection to the crash, as the police investigation continues.
