Day Camps Offered to Parents Ahead of Looming Strike

No camps Offered in Barrie Just Yet

A few municipalities have got you covered should there be a CUPE strike on Monday.

As contract negotiations between the union and province continue, many school boards, including the Simcoe Muskoka Catholic District School Board, say its schools will be closed should there be a strike Monday. As a result, several municipalities are offering day camps to assist parents.

BARRIE

ESSA
The Nottawasaga Valley Conservation Authority is offering a few spots at Camp Tiffin, a 300-acre site at the Tiffin Centre for Conservation. This camp will be open on a week-to-week basis as needed. Registration fees are $45 per camper. Visit the Camp Tiffin website for details.

HUNTSVILLE
Day camps will be offered at the Canada Summit Centre daily until the strike ends. Registration links can be found on the Town of Huntsville website.

NEW TECUMSETH
Strike Camp at the New Tecumseth Rec Centre with games, crafts, songs & activities. Camp hours 9am to 4pm with extended care available from 7:30 to 9am & 4 to 5:30pm. Register here.
