The shovel went into the ground as Denmark-based DSV - Global Transport and Logistics, a global leader in transport and logstics - announced details Wednesday to build a distribution warehouse facility in Innisfil.
The 1.3 million square foot facility located in the area of Highway 400 and Innisfil Beach Road is anticipated to be operational by August 2025 and create about 225 jobs.
"The groundbreaking of DSV's new facility is not just about the construction of a building; it's a symbol of growth and potential for Innisfil," says Innisfil Mayor Lynn Dollin. "We are dedicated to making Innisfil Heights a prime location for investment, and DSV's decision to establish their facility here is a testament to our town's bright future."

Rob Chanona, Managing Director - Canada for DSV Solutions Inc. says they continue to invest in innovation and technology to offer greater flexibility and growth to their clients, along with a better work environment for warehouse associates.
"Our strategy with DSV Innisfil is to offer our clients an option outside of the constricted GTA industrial market, however, we do not want to sacrifice time to market. Innisfi's collaboration with our development and its location with seamless access to Highway 400 fulfills this promise to our clients. We are excited to build our business, innovation and growth in the Town of Innisfil."
Premier Doug Ford attended the groundbreaking along with local politicians and representatives from DSV.
The company also has a second distribution centre in Milton.
