Disturbance call in New Tecumseth results in man being charged with attempted murder

Nottawasaga OPP have charged a man with attempted murder after police responded to a disturbance call at an address on the 5th Line of New Tecumseth.

According to police, officers arrived at the residence on Aug. 10 and found two females with serious injuries. A male was arrested at the scene without incident.

One victim received medical treatment and was released. The second woman was transported to a Toronto-area trauma centre with serious injuries.

The suspect is also charged with two counts of aggravated assault, two counts of fail to comply with an undertaking, and assault with a weapon.

Police say the name of the accused will not be released to protect the identity of the victims.
