Barrie-area’s Doug Shipley appointed to federal Deputy Shadow Caucus

Shipley tapped as Deputy Shadow Minister of Housing and Divsersity and Inclusion

Another local politician has been named to the Conservative Party’s inner circle.

Barrie – Springwater – Oro-Medonte MP Doug Shipley has been tapped as the Deputy Shadow Minister of Housing and Diversity and Inclusion. “Canada is facing a housing crisis, and the effects of that crisis are prevalent throughout Barrie – Springwater – Oro-Medonte and across the country. Housing is becoming unaffordable for renters and buyers alike,” said Shipley after he was appointed. “I look forward to working with Shadow Minister of Housing and Diversity and Inclusion Matt Jeneroux on this important file. Together, we will work tirelessly to hold the Trudeau Liberals to account on behalf of Canadians.”

Wednesday’s announcement of MP Shipley being appointed to the Deputy Shadow Cabinet came a day following confirmation that another Barrie-area MP will play a greater role in the Conservative Party. Barrie – Innisfil MP John Brassard was on Tuesday, appointed as Shadow Minister for Ethics and Accountable Government.
