Six people arrested in drug trafficking probe in Rama First Nation and Orillia

Provincial police and Rama Police Service teamed up to make a number of arrests as part of a drug trafficking investigation that began last month.

On Dec. 10, 2021, police conducted a traffic stop and executed search warrants at a Bigwind Drive address in Rama First Nation and an Orion Boulevard residence in Orillia. Police said they located fentanyl, cocaine, psilocybin, oxycodone, and other drugs along with cash.

The drugs are valued at $35,000. Police also seized a pickup truck driven by one of the accused.

Three people from Orillia, two from Rama First Nations and a person from Ramara face drug-related charges.

The suspects are to appear in court on Jan. 11, 2022.
