Springwater woman pleads guilty after being accused of providing fake legal advice

Probe into legal services began in 2018

A Springwater Township woman will need a lawyer of her own after being accused of giving out fake legal advice.

Huronia West OPP says it has wrapped up a lengthy investigation that began in 2018 after several members of the public cried foul over legal services they received. It is alleged a woman who falsely claimed to be a licensed paralegal or lawyer was providing legal services.

The 41-year-old woman was arrested and charged. On Tuesday, she pleaded guilty to charges of Fraud Over $5,000. She will be sentenced in late October.
