For a second straight day, Ontario has reported more than 400 new cases of COVID-19

Toronto, Peel and Ottawa continue to be hot spots

The province recorded a second consecutive day where new cases of COVID-19 were above 400.

Ontario health officials reported 407 new infections on Saturday, up a tad from the 401 reported 24 hours ago.

Once again, there are three areas of the province that remain flashpoints for the illness.Toronto recorded 129 new cases of COVID 19, 94 in Peel, 55 in Ottawa, and 28 in York Region.

Ontario set a provincial record for testing, with nearly 39,000 tests processed.

There was a slight increase in hospitalizations on Saturday while ICU admissions and vented patients remained stable. One more death was reported.
