One more death at Simcoe Manor amid an outbreak at the county-run long-term care home.

The County of Simcoe reported a 92-year-old woman succumbed to the virus since yesterday afternoon’s update, bringing the number of lives lost during this most recent outbreak to four. The County confirms a 96-year-old woman also lost her life at the facility, but was already receiving palliative end-of-life care and did not test positive for COVID-19.

To date, 26 of the facility’s residents have tested positive for COVID-19, while the majority remain asymptomatic. Sixteen of the long-term care home’s staff have tested positive, an increase of nine from Wednesday’s update.
