GO train and bus service to increase in September

Late-night trips between Barrie and Toronto being added

September will bring with it an increase in service on GO Transit routes as part of the reopening of Ontario.

Metrolinx said the changes on its rail and bus lines are the most significant in its history. The company added service will change on most of its routes as workplaces and schools reopen.

Weekend train service between Barrie and Toronto will resume September 12. Service for GO bus routes 63, 65 and 68 will be adjusted and reduced to align with the adjusted train schedules.

Starting September 8, there will be a new late-night southbound trip from Allandale Waterfront GO at 9:08 p.m., arriving at Union Station at 10:48 p.m., and a new northbound trip from Union at 9:53 p.m., arriving at Allandale Waterfront GO at 11:34 p.m. on weekdays.

Metrolinx said there is an increasing number of customers riding the rails and buses.

Returning riders will be required to wear face masks while in transit.

Seat dividers and new wayfinding signs have also been placed on many vehicles to provide more protection while travelling.
