Guide to March Break day camps in Simcoe County

Lots of options to keep their mind and body active

March Break is just around the corner and while it gives students a much need respite, it almost certainly means more work for parents. Luckily, Simcoe County has tons of day camps available all week long to make sure your little ones have plenty of fun during their week holiday.

Maclaren Arts Centre

Get those creative juices flowing at Maclaren Arts Centre’s Comic Book Creations camp. Kids will explore story-making, comics, and illustration through drawing, painting, bookbinding, and other multi-media techniques. This camp takes place from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, is suitable for anyone ages 6 to 11, and costs $265 for the week with options for additional before and after care.

Barrie Kempettes Gymnastics Club

Barrie Kempettes Gymnastics Club is making it easy for your kids to stay active over March Break with their day camps. Days will be filled with crafts, games, and of course, gymnastics! This camp has flexible options for morning, afternoon, and full-day camps with options for the whole week too. They also have before and after care by the day or by the week.

Talk Is Free Theatre

To be at camp? Or not to be at camp? That is the question. Actually, it’s not a question at all, of course you should be at Talk Is Free Theatre’s Camp! This week-long camp will teach kids improvisation, character building, and scene study along with games, crafts, and activities and it all culminates with a theatrical performance for friends and family. The camp costs $190 and runs from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM with additional before and after care options.

Jack’s Urban Jungle

Another option for keeping the little ones active during the break is Jack’s Urban Jungle’s Youth Camps. Led by an experienced team leader, kids will learn the fundamentals of climbing and fitness while building self-esteem, teamwork, and leadership skills. Flexible options mean you can choose between mornings, afternoons, single day, or full weeks. This one also has before and after care for an additional cost.

Snow Valley Ski Resort

Whether they already love the slopes or haven’t been on a hill a day in their life, Snow Valley Ski Resort is offering a day camp for kids ages 3 to 14 to learn and have some fun in the snow. There will be plenty of fun off the slopes too with lots of games, crafts, and activities throughout the day. Prices vary depending on lunch options and lift ticket options (such as being a season pass holder already).

Vertical Zone

Fun and safe, Vertical Zone offers an awesome experience for kids ages 4 to 12 with no previous jumping experience required. Kids will enjoy trampolining, pit and airbag time, obstacle courses, and cooperative games. Be sure to pack them a bottle of water, lunch, and some nut-free snacks too. Kids can be registered for single days or the whole week with additional before and after care available for an additional cost.

Camp Tiffin Explorers Camp will give kids a newfound wonder and appreciation for the natural world. Activities include outdoor exploration, tracking, shelter building, maple syrup making, winter games, and more. Make sure to dress in layers because although kids will have break and lunch indoors, it is most definitely an outdoor camp! It runs from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM for $45 a day with additional before and after care provided for an additional cost.

Another opportunity for kids to try something new, Alt. Rock is offering a week-long day camp full of climbing, activities, mini ninja obstacle course, crafts, and more. It also includes a field trip to Kaleidoscope to learn about robotics on March 18th. It runs from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM and costs $250 with additional before and after care available for an additional cost.

Barrie Colts Hockey School

If your kids love hockey and already know the basics but want to learn more, the Barrie Colts Hockey School is the perfect way for them to up their game while having a whole lot of fun. Train, meet Colts players, watch them practice, and get a tour of the dressing rooms. You can sign your kids up for either Monday, Tuesday, or both and lunch is included for the $89 per day price tag. This camp runs from 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM.
