Health Canada gives green light to Moderna vaccine for kids 12 and up

Moderna’s COVID-19 vaccine has been given Health Canada approval for use in children 12 years of age and up.

“After a thorough and independent scientific review of the evidence, Health Canada has determined that the vaccine is safe and effective at preventing COVID-19 in youth aged 12 to 17,” the agency said in a tweet on Friday morning.

Previously, only Pfizer’s formula was approved for this age group.
