You can help define the City of Barrie over the few decades. From road connectivity to internet connectivity. The City of Barrie is calling on residents to join them at the shiny new Sandbox Centre (above the bus terminal downtown on Maple Ave) for the Envision Barrie Interactive Screening Wednesday (May 15th, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m). The plans laid now will help the city meet its rapid population growth, which is expected to hit 210,000 residents by 2031. The city began these discussions last year through its Building Barrie website.
The night is about getting as much public insight as possible to help shape the look of Barrie over the next 20 years. The interactive component of this is a mix of interactive videos and discussions with City staff.

“This public consultation event allows residents to voice their opinion and share ideas on what the City needs to be a complete community,” said Kathy Suggitt, Manager of Planning in a statement. “We will show video clips and facilitate conversations around key themes, such as density, employment, mobility, and housing.”
