Police say two suspects fled from a vehicle that entered the ditch

Two people who OPP say ditched a vehicle after it entered a ditch in Oro-Medonte were tracked by the K9 unit.

Police say they received a traffic complaint around 5 p.m. on Tuesday in the area of County Road 93 and Cassell Drive in Hillsdale. Officers located the vehicle, and when attempting to stop it, the car fled from police. The car was not pursued but was found a short time later in a ditch with the two occupants making a run for the woods. The K9 unit conducted a search and the male driver was found hiding in the bush. A female passenger was also located hiding in the bush a short distance away.

A 32-year-old Midland man has been charged with driving while under suspension, possession of break-in instruments, failure to comply with probation, resist police, fail to stop, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, and flight from police.

A 22-year-old Midland woman was arrested on an outstanding warrant and turned over to Barrie Police.
